Some call these Manwiches, some call them Sloppy Joes – we call them Juicy Burgers at our house. And you can season them the way you like with this recipe.
- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 3-4 onions, chopped
- 1 T+ chili powder
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1 1/2+ t salt (to dietary restrictions)
- 1/2 t ground cumin or cumin seed
- 1/4 t cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1 t sugar (optional)
- 1 large can tomato sauce (29 oz)
- hamburger buns
Cook onions and ground chuck together until onions are soft and beef is browned. Drain fat as needed. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered until thickened. Serve on buns.
